What is Shutter Speed in DSLR
Shutter Speed is the time for which the film is exposed to light(object). In general it can be varied from 1 sec to 1/1000 sec. In some cases, one can have shutter speed as high as 1/4000th sec (Example: Bubble splash, lightning) and as low as 10 hrs (Example: Star movement as the night passes).
Following are some images that I captured using different shutter speeds.
The above image was captured at a shutter speed of 1/1250th second. Its a bubble splash.
I used a shutter speed of 30 seconds to take this picture. My friend drew a boy and girl using the red light under a optical mouse. In such cases the camera should be held firmly without any shake. A tripod stand is helpful in such situations. For this image, I made a stack of books vertically and rested the camera over it.
