What is ISO in DSLR Camera

What is ISO?
ISO - International organization for standardization.
In simple words, ISO can be said as the sensitivity of the sensor to the light. More is the ISO, more is the camera sensitive to light which means when there is less light (or night time) increase the ISO. In general, it ranges from ISO 100 to ISO 1600/3200/6400.

One major disadvantage is that the noise (grains) increases as we increase the ISO beyond certain limit..
